Andra
ANDRA decided to call on Crazylog to optimise maintenance management for its major project, CIGEO: an industrial storage centre for radioactive waste. Using Quickbrain, everyone involved can centralise all information in a single shared tool. They can also manage a huge amount of information on a single database and export it to make better use of the data.

« CIGEO is a colossal undertaking that represents an investment of between 15 and 36 billion euros. In this storage facility, which is the only one of its kind in the world, it is essential to be able to centralise maintenance data so it can be shared with the various companies tasked with batch studies

Their needs
Why choose Crazylog?
The success of such a massive undertaking relies on the choice of trustworthy partners, the rigor and professionalism of those partners, and their response to the system of essential criteria. Crazylog stood out with its ability to satisfy those requirements.
Excel files, which are conventionally used in engineering projects, quickly revealed their limits and the purchasers then turned to Quickbrain. Everyone involved in the multi-site, multi-company and multi-skill project can work directly in Quickbrain to ensure consistent logistics data and simplify the consolidation of studies and multiple support indicators.
Another bonus: all of the Logistics Support Analysis tasks are performed using extractions from the Quickbrain central database.
Clear objectives
Centralise information on a single tool shared by the various subsystems.
Use a single database to manage a huge amount of information and export it to feed into other tools.
Ensure compatibility between the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) studies carried out by the various companies involved in defining the subsystems.

CIGEO
CIGEO is the industrial geological storage centre managed by ANDRA (the French national agency for managing radioactive waste). This French project is for a storage centre for radioactive waste using deep geological repositories. Its purpose is to store the highly active, long-lived radioactive waste produced by all French nuclear facilities until they are decommissioned and by the processing of spent fuel used in nuclear power plants. The centre will operate for over a century. It includes surface facilities, for receiving and preparing the waste parcels, and underground structures located around 500m deep in a layer of argillite rock, for storing the waste parcels.
Digital continuity
At the end of the detailed pre-project phase, the data contained in Quickbrain will enable the client to confirm that the availability and operating cost requirements have been met. All information on the database will then be modified by the package builders tasked with completing the project and will eventually be used to feed the site’s CMMS once commissioned.
