ENGIE
Engie chose Quickbrain to optimise maintenance management at the Cycofos and Combigolfe power plants in Fos-sur-Mer because of the software’s E-DMS module which perfectly responded to their needs. Simple and flexible, the software lets you search for documents using a tree structure, search engines and smart drawings.

« “Engie already operates the combined cycle power plants of Cycofos (486 MWe), also based in Fos-sur-Mer, DK6 (788 MWe) in Dunkirk and Montoir-de-Bretagne (435 MWe). These power plants are supplied by LNG terminals in Fos and Montoir.”

Their needs
Why choose Crazylog?
The Cycofos and Combigolfe plants are managed by shared maintenance and operations teams. So it is vital to share information and have quick access to technical documentation.
The generic E-DMS solution, SharePoint, did not fulfil the technical documentation search and structure needs. Technicians generally search for machinery documentation using the tag (functional code), however the SharePoint E-DMS did not allow users to manage a technical tree structure (based on tags) alongside a purely document-based tree structure. Engie therefore contacted Crazylog to roll out a simple E-DMS solution which enabled machinery-related documentation to be found in a few seconds. The links between tags and documents were automatically created by the Quickbrain Autolink module.
Quickbrain’s E-DMS module was then rolled out to the two sites and fully embraced by the operations and maintenance teams. They can now find documents using tree structures, search engines and smart drawings (P&ID, screenshots and interactive low voltage master distribution boards) in only a few seconds!
Clear objectives
Supplement the technical tree structure from the CMMS using P&ID entry, then integrate it into Quickbrain.
Migrate all technical documents from the SharePoint E-DMS to Quickbrain.
Perform OCR on all documents in order to find them using the Quickbrain full text search module.

Some background on Engie
Engie, formerly known as GDF Suez, now runs the Combigolfe power plant (424 MWe) in Fos-sur-Mer. This power plant uses a natural gas combined cycle and delivers an electricity production capacity of nearly 2.6 TWh per year (annual consumption for 520,000 homes). It guarantees additional production which is essential to the security of electricity supply in the PACA region of France. It has a high energy output (nearly 58%) and contributes to reducing greenhouse gas and CO2 emissions. Launched in January 2008 with Alstom, the construction work for Combigolfe lasted nearly three years and involved between 600 and 800 people, depending on the period. The new power plant plays a part in boosting the electricity production of the group’s French generation facilities, which aimed to reach 10,000 MWe in 2013 compared to 7,100 MWe previously.
Electronic document management and much, much more...
Quickbrain’s E-DMS module was developed to help technicians quickly find technical information in documentation. The user-friendliness and ease of use of this module has been carefully honed and tested, first by our teams then by a number of clients operating industrial sites.
