Jersey
The management team at the new energy recovery unit on Jersey called on Crazylog’s expertise to achieve an optimal maintenance management system.

« Waste management and recovery are major challenges for many local authorities. Services must be efficient and production tools must be available. And that is even truer when you are on an island like Jersey.

Their needs
Why choose Crazylog?
For this new energy recovery unit, employing some 40 people, the management team decided to call on Crazylog’s support to implement a new maintenance management approach.
“We chose Quickbrain for its flexibility, simplicity, and ability to adapt to our maintenance team’s needs,” explains Ian Williams, Plant Manager and Member of the Department for Infrastructure - States of Jersey. Our aim was to boost our performance while reducing our down time. To achieve this objective, we awarded the contract to a maintenance service company rather than simple software seller.”

Jersey
Just off the coast of Normandy lies the largest of the Channel Islands: Jersey. In 2011, some €150 million was invested in a new energy recovery unit for the island. It comprises two lines which can incinerate 105,000 tonnes of waste and produce 82 GWh of electricity per year. For this project, the government authorities and the plant called on Crazylog’s expertise.
Crazylog’s mindset benefiting energy recovery on Jersey
Thanks to Quickbrain, they can now update their technical repository. Information communication between the operations teams and maintenance technicians has also been improved and equipment-based financial tracking has been implemented.
Crazylog worked closely with the on-site maintenance teams for the Jersey plant. Crazylog’s logic was to sell a result instead of a number of days, meaning the service was sold at a fixed price. The teams were fully committed to implementing the CMMS - not just as a tool but as a part of the overall maintenance process. This wonderful partnership logic has again proven its worth!
